Man shot in the back on Slocumb Street

A man is at Vidant Medical Center today after being shot twice late Thursday night.
Goldsboro police found 35-year-old O'Brien Kornegay at 113 N. Slocumb St. with a gunshot wound to his right leg and another to his lower back at about 11:06 p.m.
Wayne County EMS took Kornegay to Wayne UNC Health Care, and he was subsequently flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
The victim told police he did not see who shot him.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, did not immediately return a phone call seeking more information about the shooting.
