Police respond to several shooting incidents over the weekend

During a weekend marked by two shooting deaths, Goldsboro Police Department officers also responded to several additional shootings and shots fired calls, according to police reports.
Saturday at 3:37 a.m., officers responded to 235 Wayne Ave. in reference to the shooting of William Darryl Braswell, 36, 204 Augusta Drive, who suffered at least one gunshot wound. Braswell died after being transferred from Wayne UNC Health Care to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, according to a press release.
Officers responded to 410 Hollowell St. at about 1 a.m. Sunday to a shots fired call, which was upgraded to a shooting while officers were en route to the scene.
A report on the incident said 18-year-old Desconte Makell Bryant was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
A press release sent Monday from the Goldsboro Police Department said Bryant died from the injuries sustained in the shooting after being taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville from Wayne UNC Health Care.
Police are investigating Bryant's death as a homicide.
Officers responded to two of the eight total shooting incidents Friday, according to police reports.
One call was at 11:15 p.m. Friday when a man got into an argument with someone over $10 and was grazed on the neck by a .22 caliber bullet.
According to a police report, the shot was fired at him by the person he was arguing with.
At 11:38 a.m. Friday, ShotSpotter alerted officers to shots being fired in the 200 block of Wilmington Avenue. No evidence was recovered from the scene, a report said.
Several of the shots fired calls were tightly clustered, taking place throughout the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 1:34 a.m. Saturday of eight shots being fired in the area of 403 S. William St.
A report on the incident said no shell casings or evidence was found at the scene.
Reports indicate there was another shooting at 3:39 a.m. Saturday when officers responded to 207 N. Slocumb St. after a ShotSpotter alert and a person called and reported shots being fired in the area.
A wooden shutter on the house at 207 N. Slocumb St. sustained damage, a report said.
Then, at 4 a.m. Saturday, a man's car was shot into while he was at a stop sign when someone pulled up behind him and got out of their car.
According to a police report, the victim of that shooting told police he was driving south in the 900 block of Poplar Street when someone pulled up behind him at a stop sign, got out of their car and began shooting at his car.
The man's rear window was damaged because of the shooting, the report said.
Later Saturday morning at 7:09, a man's car was shot in the 300 block of Bright Street, according to a police report.
The report said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and saw a black car leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
According to the report, officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who told police he heard a shot as he turned south onto Bright Street and realized his car had been hit.
The report said the man's driver's side quarter panel was damaged. According to the report, no evidence was recovered from the scene or the man's car.
