Police: Woman hit in the head with shovel at Serena Inn

Revenge appears to have been the motive behind an assault in which a woman was hit in the head with a shovel.
Goldsboro police were called to a welfare check around 10 p.m. Friday in room 157 at the Serena Inn located at 708 Corporate Drive.
Officers found Heather Diane Stewart, 34, whose address is listed as streets of Goldsboro, who told them she had been hit in the head with a shovel.
She told officers the suspect had assaulted her because she had previously assaulted him.
The police report did not have any information on Ms. Stewart's condition or on the previous assault.
