Goldsboro High School principal placed on administrative leave

About 50 people showed up to a called meeting this morning of the Wayne County Public School Board in protest to Goldsboro High School principal Robert Yelverton's having been placed on administrative leave Friday.
School officials have not yet said what prompted the decision to effectively suspend Yelverton, other than to say the move was a "personnel matter."
The board went into closed session before further details could be gathered. This story will be updated as more information is made available.
