A man was stabbed this afternoon in front of the D&C Mini Mart at 1007 E. Elm St.

Officers responded to a call of a man getting stabbed around 1:30 p.m. and found Kevin Sauls, 28, suffering from a stab wound in his arm.

Blood was on the ground in front of the store and officers with the Goldsboro Police Department cordoned off the front of the store with yellow crime scene tape.

Capt. Trey Ball said there were two assailants that allegedly attacked Sauls, and officers are currently searching for them.

The two assailants led on foot from the store, and are actively being sought by police, though there is no description of them.

There are cameras focused on the front of the store, and Ball said officers would need to check with the store owners about obtaining the footage.

Liquid was coating the concrete immediately in front of the store's doors.

"The store tried to cleaning up before we got here and got everything secured," Ball said.
