Madyson Verneman, 8, holds up a bream that she caught during the Big Cat Fishing Tournament sponsored by the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course Saturday. It was the only fish Madyson caught all day, but her brother Jackson, 5, also pictured, caught a bass. Fifty-five children participated in the annual event sponsored by EZ Bait and Tackle that was postponed due to high temperatures earlier this year. Winners were Taylor Ingram, 6 pound catfish; Caleb Jacobs, 4 pound bowfin; Ethan Dicesare, 4 pound bowfin; Christopher McKinney, 3.5 pound bowfin; and Nigel Hatcher, 2.5 pound bass.
