A three car wreck on N.C. 111 South near St. John's Church Road Thursday afternoon just before 3:30 p.m. sent one person to the hospital and left one car as a total loss.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrolman A.J. Hostinsky, Steven Thomas, of Pink Hill, rear-ended a Chevrolet truck, causing the truck to lurch forward and collide with a Nissan truck in front of it.
Hostinsky said the driver of the Nissan truck, Jimmy Singleton, had stopped in front of 1967 N.C. 111 South to turn into his home at that location.
The driver of the Chevrolet truck, Melissa Harrison, of LaGrange, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Thomas' Chevrolet Lumina was a total loss. Thomas said he suffered minor injuries, and did not go to the hospital.
Thomas was charged with failure to reduce speed, Hostinsky said.
Traffic on N.C. 111 South was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour. The scene was cleared just after 5 p.m.
