A three-car wreck on Patetown Road in front of Wayne Preparatory Academy kindergarten around 8 a.m. this morning sent two people to the hospital.

According to state Highway Patrol Sgt. J.K. Whitley, a woman driving a white Honda Crosstour had just turned off Tommy's Road and was going 35 to 40 miles per hour when she rear-ended a burgundy Chevrolet Blazer.

The impact sent the Blazer lurching forward, causing it to hit a black Ford Edge in front of it.

Whitley said the Ford Edge was stopped in the road when the driver of the Honda Crosstour hit the Chevrolet Blazer.

"She had just dropped her child off at the school and was turning off of Tommy's Road and driving down this road," Whitley said. "She told me she wasn't paying attention and had just looked up at the school when she hit the Blazer."

Both the driver of the Ford Edge and the Chevrolet Blazer, whose names were not available as of press time, were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the Honda Crosstour, Stella Mae Cerny, of Spring Street, was charged with failure to reduce speed.
