Suspect charged in shooting death

An arrest was made Monday in the July 23 homicide of 25-year-old Joshua Omar Forbes.
Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrested Matthew Craig Moyers, 24, of 103 Southwinds Drive, Dudley, and charged him with one count of murder. Moyers is being held without bond.
According to a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Moyers was developed as a suspect and identified as the person that allegedly shot Forbes to death on July 23 through "interviews with individuals."
Capt. Richard Lewis with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said six people have been interviewed so far in the case.
Forbes reportedly went to a residence on Bryan Boulevard in Mar Mac on July 23 and allegedly got involved a confrontation in the yard of the residence, which led to his being shot.
According to the press release, Forbes went back to the car he came to the residence in and told the people he was with that he had been shot.
The car drove away from the residence on Bryan Boulevard and started to take Forbes to the hospital, but stopped at an unidentified business on U.S. 117 South to get help for Forbes, which is when Forbes died. The name of the business where Forbes died is not being released by authorities.
Investigators with the sheriff's office were reportedly aware of the vehicle Moyers drove and found him at a residence in Dudley on Monday.
Lewis said the residence where Moyers was found was a house on U.S. 117 South Alternate.
According to a press release, investigators went to the residence where they found Moyers and arrested him without incident Monday.
Investigators in the case were aided by the sheriff's office B shift patrol division, the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team and the sheriff's office warrant division.
