A Goldsboro man was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder Tuesday in connection to the May 13 shooting of Kelly Fuller at 710-B N. Virginia St.
Nigell Jerome Hocutt, 29, of 900 N. Virginia St., was arrested at 120 E. Railroad St, LaGrange, with the assistance of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office, on outstanding warrants issued on him following the May 13 shooting.
Hocutt is being held in the Wayne County Detention center without bond.
Sgt. Jeremy Sutton of the Goldsboro Police Department said warrants for Hocutt's arrest were secured on the same day Hocutt allegedly shot Fuller.
Sutton said Goldsboro Police Department "investigators continuing to investigate" is what enabled the department to locate and arrest Hocutt with the help of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office.
Sutton said he could not reveal what initially led to Hocutt being developed as a suspect.
Fuller did not die from his injuries sustained in the shooting, Sutton said.
