Angel Denise Phillips, 33, of Darlington, S.C., was found alive by Wayne County authorities this morning. She was found in a wooded area off N.C. 55 near Old Harvey Sutton Road near Mount Olive after approaching a road worker. She had been reported missing by her son after the two were involved in a wreck on Saturday on N.C. 55 near Suttontown Road. Ms. Phillips' son told authorities that they had walked away from the wreck and found shelter under a covered outdoor area on a church's property near N.C. 55 for Saturday night. The son said his mother sent him to go find water, and when he returned to where they were taking shelter, his mother was gone. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Air Watch, the Smith Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, the Arr-Mac Search and Rescue Team and the North Carolina Forestry Service participated in the search for Ms. Phillips. She was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
