Jasmine and Daisy need help.
And so do their owners, Daryl and Brianna McCarthy.
On Monday, the McCarthys leave for Great Britain -- without Jasmine, a Labrador-beagle mix, and Daisy, a husky-shepherd mix.
McCarthy, who is a crew chief at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, has been ordered to England, but he and his wife are unable to afford to fly their dogs overseas.
Mrs. McCarthy, a server at Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn Steakhouse, says each dog, depending on its weight, costs $700 to fly, plus customs, which costs almost $4,000.
A gofundme account,"Get our precious puppies overseas," provides the McCarthys with a chance to raise enough money, but unfortunately, the couple has only raised $250 so far.
"So we are pretty much ... having to leave them home or leave them with someone else," Mrs. McCarthy said. "That is not what we want to do."
She says her husband received the order almost two weeks ago after the couple expected to live in Goldsboro for three more years. Working two jobs and raising a 5-month-old baby has prevented Mrs. McCarthy from having the dogs vaccinated within two weeks before the flight -- giving her little time to say goodbye.
"They're my best friends," she said. "I've had them for two and half years. I've cared for them, I've spent every second with them. They're my comfort dogs, they're with me all the time.
"It's hard to see them with someone else because I can't see them happy with another family. They've gotten so used to us."
Mrs. McCarthy is asking people to find her on Facebook and give what they can at gofundme.com.
