Grantham Grange wins numerous awards at N.C. State Convention

Grantham Grange won several awards at the N.C. State Convention held Sept. 17 to 20 at the University Hilton in Charlotte.
Six members attended.
Overall the Grantham received eight first-place awards, 11 second-place honors, four third places and three Best of Shows.
Grantham received first place in Community Service, Grange Month and Program Director. It also received recognition in Family Living, Legislative Affairs, Labels and Boxtops for Education and Growth in Membership. Also winning were Grantham's nominations for Educator of the Year, Amber Craig; Military Personnel of the Year, Nicole Rose; Rescue Person of the Year, Gordon Joyner; and Church of the Year, Falling Creek Baptist Church.
Grange members are encouraged to enter state Grange contests that include art, photography, crafts, cooking/baking and writing.
The Grange is a family oriented, community service organization with a special interest in agriculture and other issues that affect rural North Carolina.
Grantham Grange meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Grantham rescue Building. The meeting includes a covered-dish meal and informational and entertaining programs.
