A Wayne County couple faces a litany of charges after sheriff's deputies found their car stuck in the mud near a residence that had been broken into in Mount Olive on Friday.
Property stolen from inside the residence was located in the vehicle, according to a press release issued today.
The vehicle was located along Country Club Road.
Christopher Dail Alphin, 37, of 227 Charlie Braswell Road, and April Renee Crisp, 31, of 114 Barnwell Road, were located and charged.
"They were in the vicinity of the car," Maj. Tom Effler said.
Alphin is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. Ms. Crisp faces the same charges as well as charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance on jail premises and possession of drug paraphernalia.
"The drugs were found on her person," Effler said.
Alphin was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond, and Ms. Crisp was jailed under a $19,000 secured bond.
