A drug investigation into the sale and distribution of heroin in the Rosewood community led to one man's arrest Wednesday, according to a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Shawnquelle Comorriss Futrelle, 28, is charged with Level 1 trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, maintaining a dwelling for the sale or use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has been placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.
According to the press release, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Aggressive Enforcement Team began conducting an investigation in the Rosewood area after complaints from residents regarding drug activity.
During the course of the investigation, Futtrelle was found to be in possession of "a large quantity" of heroin and arrested. The exact amount of heroin was not released, but a charge of trafficking any opiate-based narcotic requires a minimum of four grams, officials said.
"He was arrested on Rosewood Road yesterday at 6 p.m.," Maj. Tom Effler said.
Futrelle is due to appear in Wayne County District Court this morning for a first appearance.
