The second suspect identified in a series of motor vehicle break-ins that took place in January has turned himself in to the Goldsboro Police Department, according to a press release.
Deshawn Lamont Rowe, 22, is charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretense, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Rowe was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
Keron Akeal Howell, 20, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged in the same crimes. His bond was set at $11,500 secured. At that time, investigators had not yet been able to locate Rowe. According to the release, Rowe was taken into custody Thursday at the Office of the Wayne County Magistrate
Police say it was Howell and Rowe who broke into cars on both Jan. 1 and Jan. 20 in the city and removed items from them. Among the items taken were a trench coat and several bank cards as well as a leather purse.
The bank cards were later used to commit fraudulent transactions, the press release said.
Howell and Rowe are due to appear in Wayne County District Court June 10.
