SEVEN SPRINGS -- One Seven Springs man is dead and another is in custody following a fight inside their shared residence early Sunday morning, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office press release.
Timothy Morris Holmes, 49, 113 Al Drive, was pronounced dead early Sunday morning upon arrival at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Craig Bernard Melvin, 55, of the same address, is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail without bond after confessing at the scene, according to the report.
"He is cooperating with the investigation," Maj. Tom Effler said.
Deputies were called to the residence after 5 a.m. Sunday where a person reportedly had been stabbed. Dispatch relayed information that the suspect, "Craig," was still on scene.
When deputies arrived, Melvin was standing outside. The lawmen asked where the victim was and he said, "Inside. I did it," the report said.
Inside the house, Holmes was found lying face down on the bedroom floor.
Wayne County EMS transported Holmes to Wayne Memorial Hospital, and where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators who were called out to the residence to conduct the investigation then charged Melvin with an open count of murder.
A first appearance in Wayne County Superior Court is scheduled later today.
