Dr. Franklin Gross, left, and Dr. Alan Armstrong will be the featured performers in the University of Mount Olive faculty recital on March 12.
MOUNT OLIVE -- The University of Mount Olive will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Hazel Waters Kornegay Historic Assembly Hall located at 207 Wooten St. in Mount Olive.
Dr. Alan Armstrong and Dr. Franklin Gross will combine forces for a faculty concert that will feature Camille Saint-Saëns' famous "The Carnival of the Animals."
They will be assisted by a small chamber orchestra, as Saint-Saëns originally intended for a performance of the work.
Armstrong and Gross will perform on two pianos, one of which is a white Kawai grand that was recently donated to the university by Goldsboro resident Charles Immler.
In addition to the Saint-Saëns, Armstrong and Gross will perform Franz Schubert's "Fantasie for Piano, Four Hands, Op. 103."
The recital is free and the public is invited to attend.
