A Fremont man is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond after federal agents and Wayne County Drug Squad officers discovered a meth lab at his residence.
Sterling Chavez Trejo, 26, 401 Pate Road, is charged with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
According to a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, an investigation into the illegal manufacture of meth led deputies to Trejo's address.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team, Drug Squad and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation Clandestine Lab Unit seized evidence from inside the home officials said was consistent with the manufacture of the drug.
Trejo was later taken into custody and charged.
He was scheduled to appear in Wayne County District Court.
