A tip, a stakeout and traffic stop resulted in an arrest for the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Task Force Tuesday.
Douglas Wayne Howell, 28, 104 Newberry Court, now faces 11 criminal charges.
Acting on information they received concerning the whereabouts of the Pikeville man deputies say was wanted on several outstanding warrants, drug squad officers set up surveillance to watch for Howell. The officers allegedly saw him get into a car and leave the location they had been watching.
The officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a subsequent search.
Howell was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or use of a controlled substance, driving with no insurance and fictitious tags, possession of stolen property, larceny, obtaining property by false pretense and two counts of larceny.
Deputies placed Howell in the Wayne County Jail where he is being held under a $17,500 secured bond.
