County's new commissioner

Joe Gurley III, accompanied by his wife, Dana Gurley, is sworn into the office of Wanye County commissioner by Clerk of Court Pam Minshew at the Wayne County Superior Court Tuesday. Gurley was appointed to the seat when then-commissioner Steve Keen resigned his post to take a job with Gov. Pat McCrory's office. Gurley has also announced his candidacy to retain the seat this fall. He has no announced opponent.
