Airmen from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, along with other Wayne County residents, took part in a 5-kilometer run Saturday morning through downtown Goldsboro. The event was planned to raise awareness of the need to support the families of fallen members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal units. All proceeds from the event, which was sponsored by the EOD Warrior Foundation, will go to the families of fallen or injured EOD personnel. Some EOD-trained airmen ran the entire race in full turnout gear.
