Majesty sings live for judges

Majesty Rose received better reviews this week from the "American Idol" judges, but will it be enough to keep her in the competition?
Finding herself in the bottom three last week, even though she wasn't sent home, definitely had an effect on the 22-year-old singer.
In a taped interview before she took the stage Wednesday night, she admitted to host Ryan Seacrest that it had been a "totally humbling experience."
"Being in the bottom three was scary and sad," she told him. "If I can just grab America's heart, I think we'll be friends again."
The Top 10 contestants sang Top 10 songs from the Billboard charts this week.
Majesty chose to sing "Wake Me Up" by Avicii.
Judge Harry Connick Jr., who has earned the nickname "Harsh Harry" this season for his sometimes blistering commentary, took a softer approach this week. Last week, he had accused her of becoming "stylistically thin" because of her diverse song and genre choices.
"I really like what you did with that tune. I think you are very smart. I think you're complex," he said this week, explaining that audiences like to be challenged and suggesting she had done that with her performance. "That's the Majesty I like."
Judge Keith Urban disagreed, although he said he still liked her and the way she sings.
"I like the sound of your voice," he said, noting that he simply preferred the song's original version over her "folksy" take on it. "But your voice always delivers, and it did tonight."
Judge Jennifer Lopez suggested Majesty appeared to have "a little bit of fear" as the song began.
"I felt like what happened last week affected you," she said.
"Of course," Majesty said with a laugh.
Ms. Lopez cautioned her about that, suggesting the need to override the emotions as there will always be naysayers and critics. Fortunately, she added, Majesty pulled it together and made the most of the situation.
"Halfway through I started hearing the Majesty that I knew because you are comfortable up there and you are a great singer," she said.
Will she find herself on the ropes again tonight, or were enough votes received to extend her stay on the show? Tune in tonight for the results show, which airs on Fox TV from 9-10 p.m.
