Parker Strickland, 3, winds up to launch a snowball toward his mother, Adrienne, at their home in Goldsboro on Thursday. Yesterday might have been the last day to get in a good snow battle as temperatures climbed and the ice melted this morning. In Wayne County, most streets and roads were cleared by late Thursday and many businesses that were closed for several days reopened today. Public schools remained closed, and school officials will now be trying to figure out how to best make up the lost days.
