Emergency workers respond to a collision at the intersection of Spring Bank Road and Rifle Range Road shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday.

A car collided with an 18-wheeler just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, sending the truck into a roll that ended with the cab of the vehicle in the side of a house at 876 Spring Bank Road.

The N.C. State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.

Neither driver suffered life-threatening injury, State Highway Patrol Trooper Leroy Bunn said.

Everyone who was in the home also made it out safely.

Jesus Hernandez Vasquez, 32, driving a Honda Civic, was headed south on Rifle Range Road when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Rifle Range and Spring Bank roads.

Vasquez's car then collided with the rear of a tractor trailer, forcing it off the road and into the ditch, Bunn said.

"The truck then rolled after going into the ditch," he said.

The vehicle finally came to rest after the front end of the 18-wheeler crashed through the side of a house, causing "minor damage," Bunn said.

The driver of the truck, Bobby Wayne Carver, 49, of Goldsboro, escaped unharmed, as did homeowner Melissa Anderson and the other occupants.

Vasquez, transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, was cited for failure to yield the right of way, failure to stop at a stop sign and for having no operator's license, Bunn said.
