D&C Mini Mart is shown at 1007 Elm St. Police are searching for Samuel Keith Best for questioning in connection with a series of robberies across Wayne County.
A local convenience store has been robbed again -- for the second time in 10 days.
And the same suspect in that case is also wanted in connection with several other robberies around the area.
Police believe that Samuel Keith Best, 33, entered the D&C Mini Mart at 1007 Elm St. at about 9:50 p.m. Monday and robbed it at gunpoint.
Best is wanted by the Goldsboro Police Department in connection with a residential burglary and an earlier robbery at D&C. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Best allegedly broke into the residence at 501 Denmark St. at 4:40 a.m. Sept. 28 and robbed Wyatt Moore, 26, of $200 using a handgun.
Investigators identified Best as the suspect in that robbery, but were unable to locate him before he allegedly struck again, at 10 p.m. the next day, holding up D&C Mini Mart for an undisclosed amount of money.
At 9:50 p.m. Monday, still on the loose despite a call to the public for tips on his location through Crime Stoppers, Best allegedly again entered the D&C Mini Mart, brandished a firearm and hopped over the counter. He is accused of robbing the store operator and again forcing her to empty the store's safe -- this time escaping with a total of $2,706.
"We're actively looking for him; our patrol shifts are aware that he has warrants," said Sgt. Dwayne Dean of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigations Division.
"We've been in contact with the family a few times. He just hasn't turned up yet," Dean said.
Anyone with information regarding Best's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255, or text tips to 919-222-4230.
