Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department believe they have identified the man responsible for two armed robberies committed over the weekend.
Samuel Keith Best Jr., 33, is wanted for first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, and assault by pointing a gun following a residential break-in and robbery and a convenience store hold-up, according to a press release.
Best allegedly broke into the home of Wyatt Moore, 26, at 501 Denmark St. at 4:40 a.m. Saturday. Once inside he brandished a handgun and took Moore's pants which contained $200.
Investigator B.H. Canady identified Best as the burglar despite the fact that Best had allegedly worn a mask.
Best then allegedly robbed the D & C Mini Mart at 1007 E. Elm St. after 10 p.m Sunday, according to the press release.
Best entered the corner store, selected a drink from the cooler and asked for a pack of cigarettes before hopping over the counter and demanding all the money, including what was in the safe.
Canady was again called to the scene and determined Best was the guilty party.
Arrest warrants have been secured by the Goldsboro Police Department and investigators are asking for any information that might lead to his arrest.
Best is considered armed and dangerous and no attempt should be made to apprehend him. Anyone who has seen or knows the whereabouts of Best is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255, or text tips to 919-222-4230. Tipsters will remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000 for information leading to a felony arrest.
