Carolina Farm Stewardship Association in partnership with the Center for Environmental Farming Systems and Wayne County N.C. Cooperative Extension Service will be holding two lectures on the farm bill extension and its effect on local foods.
The lectures will be on Thursday, April 18, and are free to anyone interested. The first lecture will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, 201 Stevens Mill Road. The second lecture will be held at 7 p.m. at the Communication Building at Mount Olive College, 634 Henderson St., Mount Olive. No registration is required for the lectures.
Lectures will include discussion on the 37 programs that did not receive funding under the current farm bill extension, including programs that support organic research and production, farmers markets, beginning farmers and rural communities.
