Woman in fair condition after Sunday accident

Members of Thoroughfare, Mar-Mac and Grantham fire departments work to free Terika Jenise Albritton, 28, of Greenville, from her overturned car at the intersection of U.S. 13 South and Herring Road early Sunday morning. It took fire personnel and EMS workers about 40 minutes to free Ms. Albritton from the wreckage.
Officials at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh said today that a Greenville woman is in fair condition after being flown in Sunday following a vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 13 S. near Herring Road.
Terika Jenise Albritton, 28, of 524 Brighton Park Drive, was partially ejected through the windshield of her car just after 7:30 a.m. after she apparently lost control of her car as she drove around the curve where the two roads converge.
Officials said her car traveled off the shoulder into a ditch, where it hit a culvert and flipped.
Firefighters and rescue personnel from the Thoroughfare, Mar-Mac and Grantham fire departments worked for about 40 minutes to free Ms. Albritton from the wreckage of her red Chevrolet. The life flight crew was called and a helicopter landed in the roadway to transport her directly to Wake Med.
Members of the N.C. State Highway Patrol were unavailable for comment at press time, so there is no word whether any circumstances led to the accident or if charges have been filed.
