Paramount to hold fifth anniversary gala Friday

The Paramount Theatre on Center Street will celebrate its fifth anniversary since it reopened with a gala Friday night featuring loads of local talent as well as national and international artists.
The lineup of acts includes some of Wayne County's favorites, such as Samantha Casey, the Malpass Brothers, performances by StageStruck, which will perform songs from "The Music Man," and the Goldsboro Ballet, which will perform numbers from "Cinderella's Waltz."
Also, singer John Clifton will sing Broadway tunes, the Artistic Dance company will take the state, Outstanding Goldsboro Teen Emma Carter will sing, as well as renowned vocalist Letisha Banks, dancers from the Top Hat Ballroom, former Miss Goldsboro Hailey Best and the East Carolina Theatre and Dance group, which will perform numbers from "Cabaret."
Masters of ceremony will be Geoff Hulse and Tim Finan, with opening comments by Goldsboro Mayor Al King and David Weil.
