U.S. Postal Service says it will stop Saturday mail

Goldsboro postal carrier Kirk Farmer cases mail early this morning at the Berkeley Station on Cashwell Street before heading out on his city route. U.S. Postal Service officials announced this morning that they are preparing to end Saturday delivery of mail, except packages, in August in an effort to keep the agency solvent. The move would save the Postal Service about $2 billion a year.
