A 19-year-old Goldsboro man turned himself in to police Thursday on charges of sexual assault of a minor.
Tamarius MonQuee Bryant, of 110 B.J. Drive, faces four counts of first-degree statutory sex offenses and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
The 11-year-old victim, according to a press release issued today by the Goldsboro Police Department, endured the abuse over a period of five years.
That means the alleged offender would have been 14 when the attacks began; the victim only 6.
The arrest comes after a lengthy investigation conducted by the police department's Criminal Investigation Division.
Bryant is being held in Wayne County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
