Arrests made in Saturday afternoon shooting

Goldsboro Police cannot yet say why the two suspects they now have in custody opened fire on at least three people in the 800 block of Slocumb Street, after 1 p.m. Saturday.
Arraqib Ahad Hardy, 20, 615 S. Clairborne St., and Miguel Valdez Phillips, 24,1002 E. Elm St., were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, firing into occupied dwelling and damage to property.
Sgt. Dwayne Dean of the Goldsboro Police Department said that two stolen firearms, one from Wayne County, also were recovered by the arresting officers.
The shooting, according to an investigation report, occurred at about 1:05 p.m. outside a residence at 806 S. Slocumb St. Douglas Eric Stuckey Jr., 36, heard gun shots outside his home and went outside to investigate. Once outside he found two windows in his vehicle had been shot out.
A white Ford Crown Victoria was seen driving down the street with a black truck behind it.
The truck's owner and occupant were Jerry Broadhurst, 45, and Parrish Ramon Hagans, 38, respectively. The two men, according to the report also were shot at but were unharmed. The report stated that Hagans did not wish to cooperate with the investigation.
Based on what was reported, police were able to find the suspects and stop their vehicle. The stolen weapons were recovered and the men taken into custody.
"There may be additional charges pending," Dean said, adding that one of the weapons recovered had been used in a recent shooting.
