Queen of Fair pageant set for Friday

This year's Queen of the Fair will be crowned Friday night, with the pageant beginning at 8 p.m. in the Entertainment Arena. The contest is open to high-schoolers in Wayne County and will feature contestants competing in casual wear, talent, evening gown wear and group interview. The queen and top three runners-up will receive in-kind scholarships from Mount Olive College and all participants receive a cash premium. Awards will also be given out for congeniality and talent. The queen presides over a number of events throughout the fair and serves for one year.
