Mother of missing boy pleads for son

Kim Best, center, the mother of Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin Jr., the 16-year-old boy who has been missing for more than a week and who is the subject of an Amber Alert, pleads for information about her son's whereabouts.
The mother of a 16-year-old who police say was abducted more than a week ago gave an emotional plea for her son's return during a press conference that unfolded about 2:30 p.m. inside the Goldsboro Police Department.
Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin Jr. has been missing since he was allegedly forced into a car by a group of black men on Sept. 9.
Since his disappearance, an Amber Alert has been issued and a tip line has been set up for those with information that might lead to Kennedy's whereabouts. The tip line is (919) 580-4243.
