Goldsboro police issued an Amber Alert Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m., for Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin Jr., 16, 1901 Rose St.
Kennedy, a junior at Goldsboro High School, was reported missing Monday by his mother, who last saw her son at home about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Investigator Dwayne Bevell of the Goldsboro Police Department began looking into the disappearance Tuesday.
In the course of his investigation, Bevell discovered that McLaurin was abducted Sunday by three or four black males driving an older model four-door Lincoln or Buick. The vehicle was blue, but no further description of the car or the suspects has been released.
The police are in the process of developing and locating persons of interest.
"My heart goes out to the family. Our concern is for the mother and father," Goldsboro police Chief Jeff Stewart said.
