Police hunt for missing woman

MOUNT OLIVE -- Rumors police have found the scooter a local woman was driving when she went missing on Feb. 22 are not true, police Capt. Tommy Brown said this week.
Patricia Ann "Trish" Lalonde, 43, was riding a yellow Eton Beamer 49cc scooter with black side mirrors and pink design stickers covering the front and sides when she disappeared.
Police have received some calls about the missing woman, but thus far, none have resulted in any solid leads, Brown said.
It is "very odd" not to have received any real information, he said.
"We are still hoping something will come in," he said. "We have gotten information she is alive and hanging around Goldsboro. We have contacted Goldsboro police, but they say no one has seen or heard anything. Her family is still very much concerned."
Ms. Lalonde is white, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 95 pounds. She has dark blonde, shoulder-length hair and might have colored extensions in it. She was last seen wearing a white tank top style shirt, a mini-skirt and slip-on shoes.
Ms. Lalonde has cutting scars on both of her arms and has been known to carry a knife. She has brown eyes and is missing two front teeth.
Police and Ms. Lalonde's family said she has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse.
Her family and the town of Mount Olive are offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information regarding her disappearance or whereabouts.
Ms. Lalonde's sister, Tina Harville, was in Mount Olive in March hoping to learn more about her disappearance, and to appeal to the public for its help.
Police said Ms. Lalonde, who has lived in Mount Olive about seven or eight years, might frequent areas associated with prostitution and illicit drugs and has friends in the Mount Olive, Dudley, Calypso and Warsaw areas. Her mother resides in Borger, Texas.
Mrs. Harville said her sister might be out of touch for a day or two, but had no history of going missing for extended periods of time.
She said is afraid that "something bad" has happened to her.
One detail that particularly worries her is that her sister cares deeply for her dogs and that they were left unattended -- something that she said her sister would not do.
