Capt. Taylor Francis and his son, Edward, smile as they walk away from the runway. Francis and the other airmen coming home this week spent about three months in Afghanistan. Edward wore a specially designed shirt to welcome home his father.
Families at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base welcomed home more airmen Thursday as the wave of early returning troops continued. Twelve jets and more than 100 pilots, weapons systems officers and other support personnel were sent home early from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, this week, just in time for Christmas.
