Dr. John Booker and Stacey Jones place three wreaths -- one for the Dr. B.T. Person Camp, one for the Goldsboro Rifle Camp and one for the Smithfield Light Infantry -- in front of the Civil War Confederate Monument in Willow Dale Cemetery. Following the annual placing of the wreaths, a volley of musket fire from the 1st North Carolina Volunteers filled the air in honor of the fallen solders. Confederate Memorial Day in North and South Carolina is May 10.
