Farmers market opens

George Glisson holds his granddaughter Addie Olson, 15 months, while talking to Tim Norris about composting using earth worms during the first Farmers Market of the year at Plum Tree Marketplace on George Street in Goldsboro. Norris is one of several local merchants selling everything from local meats, produce, eggs, and arts and crafts. The farmers market will take place every Friday from 4-7 p.m. through the first week of November.
