Sara Ponce, a kindergarten student at Rosewood Elementary, takes part in Jump Rope for Heart, an annual event held at schools around the county and across the country, to raise money for the American Heart Association. At Rosewood Elementary's Valentine's Day event, 757 students participated in jumprope activities, had their faces painted and enjoyed a popsicle. The Rosewood Middle School Beta Club also made a $225 donation to the cause, said Michele Kornegay, physical education teacher.
