Lorice Smith, left, and Timothy Whitfield paint the privacy walls of the restrooms at Berkeley Park in Goldsboro as part of a city-sponsored parks cleanup effort. A fresh coat of paint, new trash receptacles, general cleanup and a new gate are some of the tasks being done by members of the Parks and Recreation Department, along with the volunteer efforts of three members of Goldsboro City Council. "We can change the image of our parks if we work together," Parks and Recreation Director Rueben Wall said. Wall hopes to renovate all of the city parks and is looking for local civic groups or individuals to help in a effort to build a better community. The three councilmen who volunteered their time were Bob Waller, Jackie Warrick and Don Chapman.
