SEVEN SPRINGS -- A woman and her son have been charged by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office with operating a methamphetamine lab at her home on Jerusalem Church Road, just across the Wayne County line.

Vanessa Jean Willis, 51, and Jonathan Frizzelle, 30, were charged with possession and distribution of methamphetine precursors.

Acting on a tip, narcotics detectives went to Willis' home. When confronted with a complaint about drug activity, she voluntarily agreed to a consent search of her property. Meth precursors and paraphernalia were discovered in an outbuilding next to her home.

Agents with the SBI also were involved in the raid. Members of the Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Lenoir County emergency services assisted in the cleanup of the site.

Mrs. Willis was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $3,000 bond. Her son was placed under a $1,500 bond.

Frizzelle also was served with warrants from Johnston County for possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, carrying a concealed weapon and larceny. Additional charges were served for Wilson County for an assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He also was identified as a probation and parole absconder and his bond was eventually set at $101,500.
