Daughter arrested for mother's injury

The daughter of a disabled Goldsboro woman whose toes were reportedly chewed off by puppies has been charged with abuse of a disabled adult, police said.
According to a Goldsboro police report, Sandra Monroe, 52, of Central Heights Road, was left at home for "three or four days" without care.
Daughter Latrina Latasha Monroe, 23, also of Central Heights Road, was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police first responded early on Wednesday morning to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where they documented the wounds caused by four puppies of unlisted breed at the home of Ms. Monroe and her mother.
The first report of a possible case of domestic abuse was made around 12:52 a.m. on Wednesday, but police did not name the source of the complaint.
According to an earlier police report, Latrina Monroe returned home after being away for multiple days to find her mother injured by the puppies.
She called 911 and an ambulance responded to transport Sandra Monroe to the hospital, the report shows.
Police said they were investigating the case on Thursday, and released the report of Latrina Monroe's arrest late that afternoon.
