Stevenson Honda of Goldsboro, 1309 W. Grantham St., will have about 250 new vehicles and 70 pre-owned vehicles. Owners say customer service has been and will remain the dealership's first priority.
The subject of the "Something big is coming to Goldsboro" billboards opened its doors Monday.
Stevenson Honda of Goldsboro is the "something big" and offers new and pre-owned vehicles. It is located at 1309 W. Grantham St., the former Honda of Goldsboro location, although the new business is not affiliated in any way with the former business, said Mark Wright, general manager of the Goldsboro location.
"We want to serve the community the way it should have been served for a long time," he said.
The dealership will have about 250 new Hondas on the lot and around 70 pre-owned vehicles of a variety of makes and models.
The location also includes a service and parts department available for current Honda owners who might not be in the market for a new vehicle.
The company is part of the Stevenson Honda auto group, which has locations in other parts of Eastern North Carolina, including Wilming-ton and Jacksonville.
"One of the biggest things is that it's a family owned dealership based in Eastern North Carolina. Goldsboro is a new town for us. Everybody's been very welcoming. We're very excited about the opportunity to serve the needs of people in Goldsboro with new Hondas and a huge selection of used cars," said Paul McCarthy, general manager of the group.
"One of the biggest things we offer that makes us different from other dealerships is our lifetime powertrain warranty."
The company hired about 30 employees from Goldsboro and surrounding areas, all of whom had previous Honda experience.
Wright said anyone in the market for a new vehicle should consider a Honda because they're "not too expensive, they hold their value better than any car built and they are safe."
Wright also added that he has more than 20 years of experience in selling Hondas and if a vehicle is not available on their lot in Goldsboro in most cases he can get one within hours.
He said the Stevenson auto group saw a need for Hondas in Goldsboro and thought it was a great time to open the dealership.
"Goldsboro is a good market and a very good franchise to have," Wright said. "Honda is a good brand and the economy is getting better and continuing to get better."
The Stevenson Honda sales department is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed Sunday. The dealership can be reached at 919-736-2900.
