Santa Claus is coming ... to the Cliffs

Cliffs of the Neuse employees Allan Alligood, left, Mike Spencer, William Davis and Park Ranger Candace Rose decorate a kayak for the second annual flotilla and Christmas tree lighting to be held Friday evening at the state park near Seven Springs. The event will be held from 7-9 p.m. Watercraft will be lit up for the ride and will circle the lake before the tree is lit. Participants are asked to meet at the park at 4 p.m. to begin decorating and to be in place by 6 p.m. Santa will be present to have his photo made with the youngsters and there will be refreshments and awards for best-decorated boat. People who can't make the event can still view the tree after sundown from Dec. 12 until Jan. 1.
