Watch surveillance video of Fremont Police Chief Ron Rawlings scuffle with Chauncey Simms, 53, of Sycamore Street, Fremont on Thursday afternoon. Authorities said Simms exchanged words with Rawlings before striking the chief in the face in the lobby of Wayne County Courthouse. Simms allowed Rawlings and another courthouse officer, Daymion Stevens, to handcuff him after Rawlings took out an electronic shock weapon, commonly known as a "Taser" after the company that makes it. Simms was charged with an assault on a law enforcement officer and jailed under a $15,000 bond, authorities said.
