Barry Williams
The last time Barry Williams was in Wayne County, he took a ride in an F-15E Strike Eagle and became an honorary member of the 4th Fighter Wing's 335th Fighter Squadron.
And after his return to the area Thursday, the actor best known as "Greg Brady" will have another courtesy title: Goldsboro resident.
Williams is scheduled to perform the national anthem at this week's Center Street Jam, where he will receive honorary citizenship from Mayor Al King for his continued support of the local arts and military communities.
The event, set for 5:30 to 8:30 Thursday evening in the Waynesborough House parking lot, is free and open to the public.
Downtown Goldsboro Develop-ment Corp. officials hope thousands will be on hand to greet Williams -- and to show their support for local service members and veterans being honored as part of the military appreciation-themed event.
Fatback and The Cadillacs will be the featured performers and local vendors will be on hand.
So bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes to South Center Street tomorrow night. And don't forget the camera.
You never know when a Hollywood star will grace downtown Goldsboro again.
