Seven Springs celebrated its ninth annual Ole Timey Days festival Saturday. The event, which celebrates Seven Springs' and Wayne County's agricultural heritage, featured old-fashioned carriage rides, horseshoe tossing, a Civil War demonstration, performances by the Spring Creek High School band and dancers, and exhibits by the Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club, as well as an appearance by Miss North Carolina 2008 Amanda Watson. Mayor Stephen Potter also declared the day to be Atlas Price Day, in honor of the longtime and recently retired county commissioner. Between 500 and 600 people attended the festival, officials said.
