Anonymous giver boosts Empty Stocking Fund

An anonymous donor gave $1,000 to the Empty Stocking Fund, boosting the total received the first week of the campaign to $8,056.
But the fund is still $24,944 away from its $33,000 goal.
The money is needed to pay for gifts and treats for 610 children who will attend the annual ESF party on Dec. 18.
All of the children are from homes were there is no extra money for Christmas gifts.
If you would like to share your blessings with a less-fortunate child, mail your donation to the News-Argus, P.O. Box 10629, Goldsboro, N.C. 27532; or bring it by the newspaper office at 310 N. Berkeley Blvd.
